INTRODUCTION:

The zip file, kapest2000_peracre.zip, contains four files,kapest2000_peracre.xls, Pestdata_peracre.doc, eula.txt, and this readme file, Readme_peracre.txt. eula.txt contains the legal discussion that goes with the software. Pestdata_peracre.doc, eula.txt, and Readme_peracre.txt can be viewed in the word processor of your choice.

Pestdata_peracre.doc describes the program and how to use it. It is in Microsoft Word97 format but you should be able to view it in Wordpad or in any word processor. Read it before running kapest2000_peracre.xls. kapest2000_peracre.xls, the pesticide recordkeeping database, is a Microsoft Excel workbook that runs under Microsoft Excel 2000 or later. It has been run on both the PC and Macintosh platform.

GETTING STARTED:

Download kapest2000_peracre.zip into a directory of your choice. Go to that directory in Explorer and double-click on kapest2000_peracre.zip. Follow the directions to unzip and install the program and documentation in the directory of your choice.

Once you have kapest2000_peracre.zip expanded into the 4 files mentioned in the first paragraph, you should read eula.txt and Pestdata_peracre.doc. Your exploration and use of kapest2000_peracre.xls will be easier if you have a printed copy of pestdata_peracre.doc available. This document can be printed from WordPad or your word processing program. You can leave kapest2000_peracre.xls where it is, or you can put it with your other Microsoft Excel files. Using File / Open in Microsoft Excel, find kapest2000_peracre.xls and open it. Explore it while reading Pestdata_peracre.doc.

MAJOR CHANGES:

1. Increased widths of columns B, E, H, and K in pivot tables on Query Database Worksheet
2. Added tree row volume calculations to the Orchard Information List
3. Changed color of Return to Menu and Return to Configuration buttons to improve their visability
4. On Spray Rate List, change spray rate from gallons per acre to Concentration Factor (X)
5. Modified the Database Sheet and Program code to incorporate these changes
6. On Pest Information List, spelled out all pest names
7. Added explanatory text on the Cost and Amount of Chemical Used Pivot Tables,and added a drop down so that cost and amount could be determined for the different targets
8. Added explanatory text for each pivot table on the Querry Database sheet

1. Added a pivot table to calculate spray cost per acre for different blocks, chemicals, and pests to the Query Database sheet.
2. Added chemical amount information to the chemical list in the Chemical selection drop-down on the Spray Data data entry form.
3. Added Tree Row Volume and spray rate calculator.
4. Added the capability create pesticide reporting forms for apple processors.
5. Added data entry forms to simplify data input and user configuration.
6. Added a Clear Database button on the Spray Records page to clear the database.
7. Revised Alternate Row calculations.
8. Added granular application capability.
9. Removed need for a space before AM and PM in the Start Time and Finish Time data entry fields.
